Welcome!

Welcome to I’ll Have What They’re Having!

As I travel through the healthiest countries on Earth, I’ll be sharing my insights, stories, and research with you on this blog. I will dive deep into the laws, policies, and cultural practices that shape each country’s food system, uncovering ways that we can learn from their examples and improve. I’ll also be showcasing (and enjoying) the delicious cuisines of the countries I visit!

At the same time, I will use this blog to shine a light on key food issues in the United States and to share my thoughts on food-related news as it unfolds. Fortunately, at the time of this article’s writing, the issue of improving the American food system is gaining momentum on both sides of the political aisle. If there were ever a time to pay attention and make our opinions heard by our elected officials, it’s now.

If food and public health in America are important to you, this blog will be a great place for you to learn about the most pressing problems, changes, and opportunities facing the American food system. I hope that this blog will inspire you to advocate for the change our country needs, and I hope that the insights I uncover from the world’s healthiest countries can teach us all a thing or two about eating better.

“The more you know about where your food comes from and what’s in it, the more power you have to change the system.”
— Eric Schlosser, Author of Fast Food Nation
